My way to Villach

I have worked in the semiconductor equipment industry for more than 20 years now. Before moving to Villach I was working for Lam Research in California. My wife Jitske – a native of New Zealand – and I were looking for an opportunity to live outside the U.S. as long as our two daughters were still younger. Lam Research purchased a company named SEZ in Villach and after my first business trip here I was asking management every month for an opportunity to move to this town. In 2010 this became a reality. Plan A was to be here for two years, then it became three years and now we have been here for seven and hope to stay at least another seven years.
